Translation and Dissemination Initiative (TDI)

Citizen Participation and Local Governance in Latin America

Background

A rich collection of resources on citizen participation and local governance has been produced throughout Latin America. However, the access to many of these documents is restricted because they are not online or are only available in either Spanish or Portuguese.

Guided by this concern, 15 organizations from Latin America gathered in 2002 to design a project focused on facilitating the dissemination of resources and experiences on citizen participation and local governance throughout the region. This resulted in the Translation and Dissemination Initiative.
